Our humble beginnings

My culinary journey began at a very young age, learning the art of baking, cooking meals from scratch, and preserving from my wonderful mum. Growing up, our kitchen was always filled with the aroma of genuine, heartwarming meals, all prepared using seasonal ingredients. This early foundation sparked my lifelong passion for food and sharing it with others.

Our cooking philosophy

At Laurelwood Kitchen, we truly believe food is meant for sharing. There’s no better way to connect than over a delicious meal with family and friends. We cherish ancestral recipes passed down through generations. My personal focus has also been on adapting recipes, especially reducing sugar, inspired by my husband's diabetes journey. We aim for joy and health in every dish we share from our New Zealand kitchen.
